Peter Saville (Factory Records), one of the worlds most influencial graphic designers.  Creating artwork for some of the most memorable covers of our time, altering peoples perception of music, also influencing the fashion world, with many designers interprating his work within their own designs.

Maybe a fashion designer that references Savilles work the most is Raf Simons.  The majority of his work focused on youth culture, and the underground music scene.  In 2003 his main source of inspiration was the acheive of Factory Records, selecting works from Savilles back catalogue and intregating that imagery into his own collection.  That collection was dedicated to Peter Saville.
Fast forward ten years later, Saville sat front row, at Simons spring 2014 menswear show, a homage to youth, music and rave.

Saville himself working heavily with fashion designers and fashion photogrphers such as Nick Knight on ground-breaking catalogues, such as Yohji Yamamoto which, like his album covers, became highly desirable in their own right.

" From back when I was at college, I was always more interesteds in the other disciplines that were going on at art school than the one I was doing, Graphic Design was a way of me communicating something about the things I found more interesting. I always found architecture, fashion, product design and funiture more interesting"

We see this happening more and more within the art world, musicians having clothing lines, directing films, photographers directing music videos, the list goes on.

"There is very much a converged aesthetic now, and a converged audience"
