Transparent Colours
Postet av Amin Cadie den 17. Nov 2015
For this test-picture courtesy of NKH Trondheim: I used our Redken Shades EQ range: 5+6+8KK. Then tied the hair up after drying. Transparent colours are a great way to enhance the natural shade and tone of the hair without leaving concentrated pigment traces like permanent colours do. The application and processing time is short and the price of this type of colouring enables you to experiment a little. So if you're unsure of a change, this is your safest option. Also this colour range is ammonia free.
The longevity of this colour depends on the type of hair you have, previous treatments, porosity and condition.
Art Imitates Life
Postet av Amin Cadie den 6. Nov 2015
It's a nice sunny autumn morning in Trondheim, so I decided to start the day by writing about where our work comes from. It is said that art imitates life and experiences.
Our work involves creating art for a persons image (for example); so there seems to be one formula behind an individual's creativity which emerges from their history, current mood, taste in artwork, music, and what is observed in general life. That's also why you will only connect with certain songs, pictures, scenery, artists and experiences. This explains why image and music work very well together as an example. Films use music to set the mood and interpret feelings.
Also the smallest intricate detail - not only the perfections, but also adorably charming imperfections can shape an image strongly. Personally, for me, I can appreciate what someone else would call a "flaw" on themselves. It gives them individuality.
I'm going to draw this short article to a close by sharing some of the work from one of my favourite artists and illustrators: Janusz Jurek from Poland who had an exhibition in London earlier this year.. I was amazed! These pictures are from the collection "Hairline".
On a final note, enjoy your weekend, and take a look around.. You'll be surprised by how much there is around you that you'll come to appreciate and draw inspiration from!!

Vibrant Autumn Colours For 2015?

Recommendation: Mens Angular Fringe Cut Autumn 2015

The "Angular Fringe" haircut has a very "indie" look about it. A haircut with a clean perimeter, and short back and sides. The transition towards the top is soft and it maintains some length at the top (increasing in length towards the front). It complements both classic or trendy casual wear.

How Does Hair Colour Work?
Postet av Amin Cadie den 27. Jul 2015
The good news is that most hair colour products today have been been developed to new levels, for example using oil as a catalyst rather than ammonia, reducing the damage that can be caused by processing. Oil based colours can also cover grey! And most colour can be applied easily: some to wet hair, others to dry hair, worked into a shampoo-like lather, left to process. This depends on the nature of the service your colour requires.
LEVELS OF COLOURING:
- Level 1, semi-permanent colour ("Glans Farge")-- This product adds colour without changing natural colour dramatically. The hair colour contains tiny colour molecules that enter the hair's cuticle, or outer layer, and go into your hair's cortex. They don't interact with your natural pigments producing a nice "transparent" touch up to give the a hair a naturally "alive" finish.
- Level 2, demi-permanent colour ("Mini-Colour") -- This product level lasts longer than the previous. In this process, pre-colour molecules penetrate the cuticle and enter the cortex where they then partner to create medium-sized colour molecules. Their larger size means they take longer to wash out. These products do not contain ammonia so the natural pigment can't be lightened. However, it contains a small amount of peroxide, which allows for a subtle, but noticeable, colour enhancement.
- Level 3, permanent colour -- This is what you need for a more significant colour change (to go from black to blond, you'll still need to go with a process called double process blonding and it'd be wise to get this done professionally!!). In this level, tiny molecules enter all the way into the cortex, where they react and expand to a size that cannot be washed out. Your hair actually has to grow out over time. This product acts to lighten the hair's natural pigment to form a new base and then to add a new permanent colour. The end result is a combination of your natural hair pigment and the new shade you chose. That means the colour may appear different on you than on someone else using the same colour. (That's why sometimes a "strand test" is so important).
Hope this information has been helpful!! - Amin.
